International Master's Degree Programme in Photonics is a two-year degree programme taught in English at the University of Eastern Finland.  The goal of the programme is to educate students with outstanding skills needed both in international careers in optics and photonics or related fields, and also in post-graduate studies.

International two-year Master's Degree Programme in Photonics is offering scholarships for international students who have been accepted to study in the programme. The amount of support is EUR 500 per month for a maximum duration of two years. The scholarships  will be awarded to all admitted international students.  However, if a student is eligible for the Finnish student financial aid (opintotuki) provided by the Social Insurance Institution of Finland (Kela) he/she cannot apply for the above grant.

The requisition for receiving the scholarship is to complete the studies in two years.

There are no tuition fees in the University of Eastern Finland which is a great advantage over many universities in Europe and North America.
